Bel Power – Capabilities
The Bel Power portfolio of products include one of the broadest ranges of dc-dc converter modules on the market to day. The isolation converts include all standard “brick sizes” including sixteenth, eighth, quarter, half and full brick packages each with a range of products from state-of-the-art performance to basic volts and amps for the budget conscious. Bel also offers a comprehensive selection of high efficiency bus converters for intermediate bus architecture applications. The non-isolated product offering is one of the broadest in the industry with cost-effective solutions ranging from 1A to 150A. In addition to the standard products available, Bel also offers for its strategic customers a wide array of custom designs and manufacturing capabilities.
Bel is also at the forefront of the shift to digital technologies in power supplies. Many of our products already incorporate digital microcontrollers. A number of our high current non-isolated converters are capable of implementing I2C interfaces including PMBus protocol.
Bel Power adding established AC/DC power conversion products to our menu and important capabilities in the design and manufacture of these devices to our skill set, the acquisition of Powerbox creates exciting new growth opportunities for Bel, and is another important step in our strategy to closely align our design resources and products with the requirements of our customers. Many of Bel’s key power customers are located in Italy, so this acquisition will allow us immediately to increase our revenue potential with Powerbox’s medium to high power AC/DC power conversion products complementing Bel’s current power DC/DC offerings. Powerbox’s design resources will expand our technical capabilities in the AC/DC market, and as part of Bel’s Power Products business, the Powerbox design team and product platforms also will enhance the product development efforts at Bel Power’s design center in Hangzhou, China, as well as our Bel Power design location in Westborough, Massachusetts, which has specific expertise in digital controls.”.
